Community Christmas
One Great Gift of Service

Touch the lives of our neighbors in need.

Thank you for thinking of CCS as a place you will give back to our community.

Working-Hours Opportunities:

Able to volunteer during the standard "nine-to-five" work week?  Great!  We need your help!

Direct Client Services:

If you're interested in working directly with our clients, there are several ways in which you can serve at CCS, including:

  • Client intake interviews
  • Food Stamps application assistance
  • Pre-screening for microloans
  • Helping clients pick out clothing
  • Assembling and distributing groceries

"Behind the Scenes" Work:

Looking for more of a "backstage" contribution?  There are lots of ways you can help CCS, including:

  • Sizing, sorting, and hanging clothing
  • Assembling grocery packages
  • Matching sock and shoe donations
  • Restocking clothing "show" rooms

Out-of-Office Hours Opportunities:

Unable to volunteer during the regular work week?  No problem! You can help, too!

Donation Drivers

A great short-term or one-time volunteer opportunity!  Pick up donations made to CCS from the donor's home or location!  This could range from large amounts of clothing, to pet food, to furniture, and more!  Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more information, or to register to be "on call" for needed donation pick-ups.

Group Activities:

We are happy to host your group's service project or volunteering time.  Groups are welcome to perform the above listed activities, and may perform other projects at CCS as needed, such as shelving construction or small painting projects.  Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more information.

Contact our Volunteer Coordinator  at 214-560-2511, ext. 403,

for more information about volunteering at CCS!

We look forward to working with you!

CCS volunteer and award winner Jan Magee.

President's Volunteer Service Award

Jan Magee, a senior at McArthur High School in Irving, recently received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for performing 526 hours of community service during just her first 3 years of high school.  In addition to coming to CCS on Tuesdays whenever she isn’t in school, Jan has been on mission trips and service projects of her church, served at Boy Scout day camps in the summer, and is an interpreter for the deaf.

Congratulations, Jan, for sharing your gifts and graces with so many people in so many different places.  And especially thank you for your help at CCS.
